How-To Guide – Creating Your AWeber Email Campaign
Most successful online marketers use email campaigns. In fact, some solely rely on them, while others use them as a crucial component of their marketing. Hence, if you want to know how to create a campaign in AWeber, then this article is for you.
How to create a campaign in Aweber:
STEP #1 – SIGN-UP WITH AWEBER
Your first step is to sign up for an account with AWeber. Be aware that the site requires you to provide some basic information. However, it’s just the usual stuff. So it’s not something that you need to be too concerned about.
Some information may need to be accurate so that you won’t run into a problem with spam-related laws and regulations. This includes email subscription details, postal address, industry type, social profile link, and company name.
STEP #2 THE LIST SETTINGS
A collection of emails is typically called the “list” in AWeber. The site also allows you to categorize the emails and group them based on mutual interests or other targeted characteristics like location or demographics.
You can skip categorizing your list if you have only one product or service that caters to a single audience. It’s only when you have multiple products that are non-related and emails that come from various sources that you need to categorize your list.
After all, it’s a bad idea to send dog-related emails to people subscribing to a beauty-related email list.
In AWeber, there are two ways you can populate your list. First, you can import a list. Be mindful that AWeber has stringent guidelines regarding importing an email list. This is to ensure that they are not helping spammers.
The second option is to build your own list. AWeber has all the necessary tools to build your email list. They can even help you make your landing page where a visitor can subscribe to your email list.
STEP #3 – CREATE THE LANDING PAGE
Learning how to use AWeber to create landing pages is intuitive and easy to understand and implement.
You have the option of using one of the numerous templates that AWeber has designed, or you can use the drag-and-drop editor to create your landing page from scratch.
After you have finished making any necessary adjustments to the landing pages, you may save and publish them so that they are made public. Most importantly, you can now start collecting emails.
STEP #4 – CREATE THE FIRST MESSAGE
The idea behind an autoresponder is that you have an automated system that automatically replies or sends emails. This also means that you have to set up your message beforehand. In most cases, the first email in your autoresponder list is a “welcome message.”
Messages can be crafted by going to the Campaigns part of the interface and selecting the “Create a Campaign” button from there. You will be presented with many different campaign templates, from which you may choose the one that best meets your needs or preference.
Alternatively, you can craft your message from scratch.
STEP #5 – NAME THE CAMPAIGN AND “CREATE”
The next step is to create your “email campaign.” You’ll need to give it a name. Any name will do and simply click the create button.
The next step is setting up the trigger. The trigger is the event that will start the campaign. In most cases, the trigger will be when a person subscribes to your mailing list. In AWeber, it’s officially called the “On Subscribe” trigger.
Additionally, there are filters and specific target options that you may want to explore if you think they will help your email campaign.
The campaign canvas is where you will line up your pre-written emails. This is where you place your “welcome message” that you have prepared in the last step.
You can add more email messages while you are in the campaign canvas. One important setting that you need to be familiar with is the time interval between email messages. Do you want to send the messages on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis?
Keep in mind that if the sending frequency is too high, your subscribers may be annoyed with your messages. On the other hand, if you send too little, they may forget who you are and mark your emails as spam.
While an email campaign may not be in vogue in today’s online marketing field, it doesn’t mean it’s ineffective. In fact, the phrase “the money is in the list” was true before, and it still is today. So, start building your list and email campaign right now.
